ACCESS THE PROPERTY
The home has a keyless entry deadbolt, and your access code will be the last six digits of the phone number verified through VRBO, another site, or directly with the owners.
The access code will be valid for the length of your stay. Press the Schlage button at the top of the keypad prior to your six digit code to access the home. To lock the home when you exit, just press the Schlage button.
Your time of check in and checkout is recorded through the wireless connection with the device.
USE THE INTERNET
The wireless connection is Beech Rental 2 and Beech Rental 5. Connect to Beech Rental 5. Beech Rental 2 is an alternate connection in case there is an issue with the Beech Rental 5 connection. It is at a lower speed. The password will be located in the Welcome Book located on the coffee table in the family room.
HEAT THE HOME
Each room has a thermostat that controls the heaters at the baseboards throughout the home. The loft typically doesn’t need heat because of the amount of heat that rises. If at any time you used the heat during your stay, return the thermostats to 55 degrees upon departure.
USE THE JETTED TUB
The jetted tub is located in the master bathroom. Fill the water above the jets but no higher than small ledge above the jets. Press the white button to turn the jets on and off. Turn the knob below the on/off button to the right to control the amount of air infusion. Turn the knob on the right to control the pressure.
REMOTE CONTROLS
The remotes for the main level television, fireplace and ceiling fan, are located in one of the table drawers, or in the container located in the middle of the coffee table. Please return them to these locations.
- Roku TV: Family Room Wide Screen Television and Roku TV
- Charter Cable: Used to turn on cable when necessary
- Skytech: Fireplace Remote
- Hampton Bay: Ceiling fan and light - switch behind door must be on
The remotes for the upstairs television and fan are located in the end table drawer, and the remote for the deck awning is located on the wall left of the sliding glass door to the deck.
TELEVISIONS
The family room television has Roku TV, which streams channels at 4k quality. It's Internet television, versus cable television. Use the Roku remote to turn on and off, as well as to control the television. The console is on the tall side so you have to hold the remote up so that it can communicate with the infrared on the television in order for it to work.
Sitting on the couch and holding the remote on your lap will not always communicate with the television properly.
Select the Spectrum icon in order to access typical cable channels. There are also other free apps offering free movies and news and such that you can choose instead of Spectrum.
Some of the Roku apps require a personal account, such as Netflix, that you can use only if you have an account.
Below are the remote control functions.
- The Home button is located at the top right, and brings you back to the applications
- Exit is located at the top left, and exits you from an application
- To see the menu of any app, select the left arrow key
- Volume control and mute buttons are on the right side of the remote.
FIREPLACE
The Fireplace is controlled by the Skybest remote. Simply click the on button to turn it on, and click the off button to turn it off. To the lower right side of the fireplace, there is a blower switch. Turn it on to use the fireplace for heat, which is recommended in winter. Using the blower provides a significant amount of heat, and the baseboard heaters aren’t usually necessary in the family area and loft.

DECK AWNING
The remote for the awning is located on the wall near the sliding glass door off of the dining area. Use the arrows to extend and retract. Please make sure that the awning is retracted when there are high winds and upon departure.
GRILL
The burner on the left of the grill is temporarily not working. Turn on the gas main valve which is located to the right of the grill at the deck. The knob is horizontal when the gas is off. Turn the knob vertical to turn the gas to the grill on. Each burner has a knob. Turn the burner knob to IGNITE/HIGH and light the burner with a lighter. One is located in the far right kitchen drawer. Please replace the lighter if you use the balance of gas. Make sure to turn all burners off, as well as the main gas to the grill, and return the grill cover prior to departure.
BLUETOOTH SPEAKER
There is a bluetooth speaker and light that you can use to connect your smartphone or any bluetooth music player. It is located on the kitchen counter and looks like a lantern.
After you connect to the WIFI, simply select AR Heartland on your bluetooth device settings to connect.
While out on the deck, the speaker can be hung on the left hook next to the wind chimes.
LOFT FUTON
Please use the instructions in this video to understand how to make the futon couch in the loft a bed and vice versa. Please return the futon to the couch position prior to your departure. Please view this video for instructions on doing so. Please don't attempt to do so without watching these instructions.
